Speech Pathology Consultants, Inc. is a private practice in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania suburban region. We have provided speech and language therapy to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric clients since 1984.  We contract with schools, pre-schools, early intervention programs, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes and home care agencies.  Flexible day and evening hours are available Monday through Saturday.

Speech Pathology Consultants, Inc. employs and contracts with qualified speech-language pathologists who have specific expertise to meet the needs of our clients. Speech-language pathologists working with the practice are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and we are licensed in the state in which services are provided.
 
 
 
 
  The founders and presidents of SPCI:

Helene Avart, M.A., CCC-SLP, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University in 1977 and her Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from Temple University in 1981.  Prior to her partnership in SPCI, she was a speech pathologist for neurologically impaired adult inpatients and outpatients at Moss Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.


Ellen Perlmutter, M.A., CCC-SLP, received her Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in 1975, graduating valedictorian.  She received her Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from Northwestern University in 1977.  Prior to her partnership in SPCI, she worked in the Chicago area.  After moving to the Philadelphia area, she was the Administrative Coordinator for Child Development Services at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ.
