Who We Are
Speech Pathology Consultants, Inc. was started by two speech therapists who continue to run the company emphasizing the highest professional standards. Our strength is our team and our sole commitment to speech and language pathology. We offer supervision, mentoring and collegial interaction essential to professional growth.
Speech Pathology Consultants, Inc. employs and contracts with qualified speech language pathologists who have specific expertise to meet the needs of our clients. Speech language pathologists working with the practice are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
We contract with public schools, specialty schools, charter schools, preschools and pediatric rehabilitation facilities.
Bios
The founders and presidents of SPCI:
Helene Avart, M.A., CCC-SLP, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University in 1977 and her Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from Temple University in 1981. Prior to her partnership in SPCI, she was a speech pathologist for neurologically impaired adult inpatients and outpatients at Moss Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Ellen Perlmutter, M.A., CCC-SLP, received her Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in 1975, graduating valedictorian. She received her Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from Northwestern University in 1977. Prior to her partnership in SPCI, she worked in the Chicago area. After moving to the Philadelphia area, she was the Administrative Coordinator for Child Development Services at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ.
